Mother’s Day is always a special time for me. My father died almost 11 years ago a couple days before Father’s Day. Ever since I have clung tightly to my mother, knowing what is it like to lose a parent and how heart wrenching that can be. Mother’s Day always coincides with my birthday and I find it entirely appropriate that my mom and I celebrate this day together as my birthday is just as much a celebration of all she has done over the years to help me become the person I am today.  Happy Mother’s Day, mom!
